Is the power light in the front blinking or on solid?please just describe this status of the powerlight please

it is solid red when off....(tv just came on, but power light (blue) is not on at all. The light has never been blinking.

Symptoms like this are often to do with bad elco capacitors on the powerboard they either leak electrolyte/balloon up/have raised domed tops/ these will need to be visually examined first for these signs then the board will need to come out and the capacitors replaced, do you have any soldering experience or know someone who has?the caacitors themselves are about $1 each from radio shack or similar

If you can't do this another option is to replace the powerboard however this would depend on availibility

A tech would probaby charge $200 to replace the capacitors subject to the set being brought to a repair facility
