Hi and welcome to justanswer.I`m going to help you with your tv but first i will have a few questions;
Can you see the tv`s menu correctly or is it also in stripes ?
Could you please lookup your tv`s model number located on the back cover ?
I will wait for a while(standby) to see if you become available for chat, just send me a reply ,and i will be notified and be with you ASAP.

model number is XXXXXXXXXX

Hello , thanks for the model number.
Do you wish to look into this yourself of just would like to have a idea of the cost of repair in a shop ?
both, depending on how complex
o.k then, could you give me a few minutes ?
ok
O.k i found a supplier that will ship in the UK but none directly in the uk
supplier for what?
Sorry i`m having a little problem with the chat mode,i`m going to log out and right back in
Here is an address where you can see your part ,price and also can order it from there;http://www.shopjimmy.com/lg-philips-6871l-1098c-t-con-board.htm
As you can see this is about 6 or 7 pounds
easy to fit?
If you decide to look into this yourself then i will need you to give me the number in the white square stamped on the board
how much would this cost in a shop then?
In the uk i am less familliar with the repair cost so i could give you the average price here in canada or the us ?
This is a supplier in the uk but it seem to be out of stock at this time ;http://flattvparts.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1857
It is also called the LVDS board in the UK
i'm thinking of getting it done by a pro
If you want to take a look yourself then after removing the back cover,it will be sitting in the upper center at the back of the lcd panel and there will be a metal shield covering it.
In any case i gave you an idea of the cost of that part (second address) in the uk ,so you can tell the repair shop what you know
cool#
This could save you some money on the parts mark up prices.
