it blinks 9 times pause then 9 times

Ok are you near the unit to perform a test ?

Do you have the original sony remote ?

Customer:

yes

Ok unplug the Tv wait 60 seconds and plug it back in

Steven :

Use the sony Tv remote and do the following

Aime the remote at the Tv and press the following n buttons on eright after the other

Steven :

DISPLAY 5 VOLUME UP POWER The Tv should come on

Customer:

standby light blinking 9 times

Try again I don't think you did it right it is important each button has to press witin a second or two of each other so it has to be knid of fast, display the number 5 the volume up and then the power.

unplug again?

Replaced D6301 using P/N 6-500-567-21.

what is this part and can I do this myself?

This diode can be found on the ac input board, this is the board that the power cord is connected to
