Hello, welcome to Just Answer.

I will need to ask some question to be able to troubleshoot the problem:

-Can you tell me the model number of that Bravia TV?

-How is it connected to the cable box? (cable type).

-How did that started/happened?

-What model of cable box do you use?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Model # XXXXX

Standard cable connector from wall outlet. Male to female connector

The sound was working last evening for me. I turned the tv off then my daughter turned it back on and there was no sound.

With the TV blue [menu] button, go into sound setting and check if you have MTS set to "stereo" instead of "auto SAP" for analog channel and also check "alternate audio" to be sure it was not changed and that you are on a used audio stream for digital channels.

By the way i would use an HDMI cable between the Explorer and the Bravia.
