The Sharp Aquos TV's have no direct way of plugging in headphones.
The audio jack on your TV does not output sound to headphones.
The best way to get around this is to use a Y-Adapter with RCA plugs on one end and a 3.5 mm jack on the other end.
This is the type of connection you will need:http://www.amazon.com/Male-3-5mm-Stereo-Female-Y-Cable/dp/B000I23TTE/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1297293576&sr=8-6
Meaning the RCA ends of the connector to the audio outputs and the 3.5mm female end of the connector to the headphone, right?
There are other possibilities, but this is the simplest way to connect it up.
If you want to listen in private, you will also have to turn off the speaker sound in the Menu settings.
Private is what I want.
I had tried that cable from Monster Cable earlier but the headphone jack could not go into the Monster's female end properly. I hope it was Monster issue.
