Jack :

Hi and thank you for using justanswer.

Jack :

On your model there is a button on the remote control called "P.SIZE"
Press it and it will allow to select different picture format.

Jack :

If you want a full screen picture select the "screen fit" option

Jack :

If you select screen fit then it will give you the option to adjust the position, use the arrows on your remote to adjust it.

Jack :

Then press the "enter" button to memorize it.

Jack :

Don`t for get that your cable box also has a picture size option,
Usually on the cable remote there will be a button with this sign on it # XXXXX it may be called size ,zoom, format etc.

Jack :

It also usually has 3 modes ; normal, stretch, zoom , if so then select "normal" and adjust the screen size using your tv`s remote.

Jack :

With the combination of both remotes , sometimes it takes some trial and error but i`m sure you will find the correct setting that works for you.

Jack :

I will wait for a while to see if you become available for chat, just send me a reply and i should be with you within a couple of minutes.

Customer :

The fit to screen option is grayed out and is not available when psize is pressed.

Customer :

It used to be availabel and work but suddenly dissapeared.

Jack :

hello

Jack :

I believe you need to have the tv in user mode , not preset but can you give me a minute while i check?

Customer :

I don't no about user mode.

Customer :

Thats know of course

Jack :

O.k i`m back

Jack :

In your tv`s menu under "picture options" check to see if the size is set to 16:9 then go back to P.SIZE

Customer :

I am not at the tv now but continue the explanation please.

Jack :

That would be under picture then picture option

Jack :

It would help if you would have the tv nearby as we could go through the options

Jack :

Also in that same menu you should look for "film mode" and set it to off before going back to the P.SIZE menu

Customer :

My tv has a mode menu heading then a picture options subheading then a size subsub heading then I can select 16:9 Zoom1 Zoom2 fit to screen 4:3 and fit to width. fit to screen and fit to width are grayed out

Customer :

yes I have film movie mode off. However in the last two weeks it worked with "movie" mode on

Jack :

In taht same screen, does it say 16:9 ?

Jack :

If the film mode is off , can you select screen fit ?

Customer :

no and the psize button on the remote sends me to that same screen.

Jack :

You mean the one that has the "film mode" ?

Customer :

Yes all the picture options are under the same heading,

Customer :

Movie mode seems only to set a certain color and brightness level.

Jack :

O.k then if the p.size button sends you there then it is because that is where you will find the way to bring back your regular p.size menu

Customer :

right it's the same place from the menu or the psize button.

Jack :

Jsut make sure that it is set to 16:9 and film mode OFF

Customer :

ok

Jack :

also press enter after making changes.

Customer :

ok

Jack :

hello , i think we lost each other for a while

Customer :

Hello

Jack :

hello, i think we lost the line for a sec

Customer :

I'm back and can access the tv.

Jack :

hello

Customer :

I tried you hint that the # XXXXX on the cable remote would change the pictur and it did. the fit to screen option is still grayed out but the pictur is less distorted.

Jack :

Try to select wide fit and select reset

Customer :

wide fit is grayed out and cannot be selected.

Customer :

That is the prolblem I started out with.

Jack :

Did you verify in the "picture option that the 16:9 mode is selected and that the film mode is off ?

Customer :

yes

Customer :

is there a way to reset the set to the factory defaults.

Jack :

You could try to go into the menu under picture and perform the reset

Customer :

no way to do that in mode you can only reset the zoom 1 and zoom 2 settings.

Jack :

can you access your standard menu ?

Customer :

It is grayed out.

Jack :

How about the tools button

Customer :

let me see

Jack :

between the media.p and fav.ch buttons there is the menu button on your remote

Jack :

If you open it you will see a picture icon/option ?

Customer :

I cant see any tools menu under setup there is plug and play but it is grayed out also

Jack :

what happens if you press the menu button just above the arrows?

Customer :

wait there is a tools button on the remote let me try that

Customer :

no the tools button just gives me sound pip and timer.

Customer :

the button above the arrows is the menu button that leads to everything we have been talking about the mode, picture size etc. with the grayed out options.

Jack :

What about the MENU button ?

Customer :

What about it it leads to the grayed out options

Jack :

not the p.size or p.mode, MENU

Customer :

That is what I'm taling about that is what I have been using all this time. it gives me the options I have been telling you about.

Jack :

I`m talking about the button called menu on your remote not p.size

Customer :

menu gives me Mode, plug and play , sound, etc.

Jack :

I`m sorry but i`m out of ideas on this one so i will opt out and your question will be reposted automatically and another tech might be able to help you better.

Customer :

Ok thank you for you help. at least it is less distorted now I used the cable box remote # XXXXX bye

Jack :

Good luck
