Facing TV Problems? Ask a TV Technician.
Hi and welcome to Just Answer. I will try my best to give you a precise and accurate answer.
There are several things you can do. This TV has an analog audio output and a digital audio output. You are lucky, most TVs only have the digital.
So, you can do the following:
Powered speakers - self contained speakers with the amplifier built in. Think of the speakers on your PC only bigger.
Sound Bar - probably your best bet, a slim wide speaker that goes under your TV and a separate subwoofer. From about $200. Here: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-HW-C450-Soundbar-Speaker/dp/B0037QF9UA/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1288905571&sr=1-2
Home Theater System - usually comprising a receiver and speakers with a DVD player built in. Also from about $200. Here: http://www.amazon.com/LG-LHT854-1000-Watt-Disc-Theater/dp/B0018YXP5Y/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1288905745&sr=1-4
Those are the three most basic ways of connecting your TV.
I only get paid if you click and it does not close our dialog together...we can continue with your issue. Thank you very much.
I have Bose multimedia speakers. Can these be hooked up and how?
Ok, do you have a model number please?
Well, I just looked at the manual for this TV and it does not have an analog audio out - only a digital audio out utilizing a optical jack.
So your speakers will not work without doing some kind of digital to analog conversion. Amazon sells this: http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Optical-Analog-Converter-Adapter/dp/B003OND0N4/ref=dp_cp_ob_e_image_3
You run an optical cable from the TV to the box and then you would need a RCA to 3.5mm adapter to your speakers. Like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Male-3-5mm-Stereo-Female-Y-Cable/dp/B000I23TTE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1288908344&sr=1-1
You would plug your speakers into the small end of that adapter.
That should work but I can't guarantee it.
Ok, but you still may want to consider a cheap soundbar like the one I previously mentioned. It would be much less hassle and sound better but of course, it would be a tad more expensive. Please do not forget to click the green ACCEPT. I'll still be here and I appreciate the click. Thanks.
