TV Repair Questions? Ask a TV Technician for Answers ASAP
Hi and welcome to Just Answer. I'm sorry to hear about your TV. I will try my best to give you a precise and accurate answer.
Are you saying that the TV does not have an optical out? Can you tell me the model number of the Phillips and the sound bar?
Ok, there are two types of SPDIF jack.
They are shown here:
The one on the left is known as a coaxial, the other is an optical.
I assume that you don't have a matching pair - i.e. one on the TV and a similar one on the soundbar??
Ok, easy fix. You need to buy a coax to optical converter. It is about $30 and you can buy one here: http://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=avtoolbox&StoreType=BtoC&Count1=461300075&Count2=378440499
