LG 60PB4D Plasma TV, Picture wont show, TV wont turn on.

Resolved Question:

LG 60PB4D Plasma TV, Picture won't show, TV won't turn on.

I've unplug TV, plugged back in and it makes a quick double click sound followed by a brief click sound. (Clicking) Clincking stops after a couple minutes and I am still unable to turn on. The power indicating light on the front remains red.

We did have a bad storm last night and power was off for about 9 hours

Dear JA Customer,

Thank you for your question.

The common fault here is the internal Main Power Supply board. The clicking relay indicates that the set is getting power to it, however, the filter voltage is not sufficient to turn on fully.

Discussion

The voltage on the filter components gradually reduces as the set ages without any noticeable effect, however, when power is lost completely the filter components will not regain their full voltage.

Solution

An experienced technician would verify the power supply voltage and change the faulty filter components as necessary.

The approximate cost for the filter components is $25.00 plus your local service call rates and labor.
