Customer Question

Sony Grand WEGA KDF-46E2000 Projection TV (KDF46E2000) - My Sony has a discoloration or shadow along the top 4 inches of the screen. I recently replaced the lamp hoping to fix the problem...If anything, I think it is a little worse...Will this require a shop fix or can I make an adjustment.

Thanks, John

From the information you have provided the problem is being caused by a failed optical block. This is a very common problem with the Sony DLP TV sets. Click here for lots more information on the topic. Sony issued an alert for this problem and extended the warrenty to cover the repair. Most of these warrenty extensions have ended but yours has a short time left. Click here to view the alert from Sony. To have this repair made outside of the warrenty will be expensive.
