HiCustomer

Thank you for using Just Answer.

That TV would be manufacturer by another third party and they don't always use the same manufacturer. As such , the particular sensor for the TV might be used in another TV. There is no general listing that gets updated because the manufacturer might choose to use a different sensor if he can obtain it for less money.

You can go from 0001 (or as many digits as it uses) and try every single possible number and you may find one that works the TV. However, there is no guarantee that you will find one.

Also, you can try this site to see if they will have a code that is not known to the manufacturer -

http://www.remote-codes.com/

Also -

There are a couple of manufacturers that make remotes that can be programmed (via an online link thru your computer). These are generally a bit expensive and you probably could buy a new TV for the price of good one. However, they are easy to use afterwards. The Harmony brand seems to be the best of these. You would pay $200.00 to $500.00 for one of this guys.

Also, another other option is to purchase a "learning" remote that you would program. This is less expensive financially. However, it will take a good deal of patience and time to program each and every button on both remotes. You also have to label and learn which buttons will operate which features.

Here is one that we've seen do a good job with most devices -

I dont quite understand fully the following sentence extracted from your email:

"That TV would be manufacturer by another third party and they don't always use the same manufacturer. As such , the particular sensor for the TV might be used in another TV. There is no general listing that gets updated because the manufacturer might choose to use a different sensor if he can obtain it for less money"

The universal remote that I am using is model URC-386. The search function gives me code 039 for this TV but it does not work.

I've already been on the site http://www.remote-codes.com/

I dont want to pay 200$ for a remote for a TV that is not worth that much anymore!

Frankly, I expected a more precise answer and some possible codes

Regards

Hi y,

I can understand your frustration because we get a good deal of people asking essentially the same question that you have asked. People do not like hearing the information.

To simplify my answer - There are no codes or listings of codes that can be accessed.

Third party manufacturers do not consistently use the same sensors. So the same TV manufactured during two different times can use two different sensors that would use two different IR bands. Manufacturing standards are not essential to these manufacturers because they are producing a cost sensitive product.

The less expensive solutions (above) -

1. Try every code 001 to 999.
2. Purchase a "learning remote" that you will program each button for. You will need an original remote control to do this so that the learning remote control can learn from it.

Please let me know if you would like more information and/or clarification.
