Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,

Initially, determine and postback the model number of the Olevia TV.

Good luck and thank you for asking JustAnswer.

I looked under the firmware version tab in the menu option. It reads 527 532 Version A30-2.A19.A10.A01.A21

s/n:VCLG68303826

Expert:  Louie replied 4 years ago.
Please confirm if it is a Syntax Olevia 532H.

Offhand, it would appear that the reason a channel scan can not be performed is because of V-Chip lock. Do you know the 6 digit password? If not, have you tried 9 9 9 9 9 9 which is the default password (not unless it has been changed).

how do I enter the password? I am not sure if it is a syntax olevia, where would I find this information?

Expert:  Louie replied 4 years ago.
The model number would be stenciled on a name plate at the rear of the TV unit.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
I can't read the model number, the wall mount is covering that information. The menu won't allow me to access the factory settings, factory input or the auto channel setup.
Expert:  Louie replied 4 years ago.
I understand. Let's give the password XXXXX try. Since it is rather difficult to replicate the images on screen, please find below screen shot.

Before doing a re-scan, set Parental Control Feature to OFF.

the default password XXXXX't work, I keep getting a message that says input error. I never set a password XXXXX the parental control. Could there be another default password?
Expert:  Louie replied 4 years ago.
Either:
  • the TV is not a Syntax Olevia 532H;
  • the lock is not V-Chip related;
  • the default password XXXXX XXXXX;
  • the problem calls for a different approach.

It would then be necessary to confirm the model number as earlier requested. Perhaps the owner's manual of the TV or the receipt/proof of payment or warranty registration card or any other documentation that came with the TV.
