LCD panel TV sets display the picture in 2 or 4 sections, the upper/lower section and some do it in quadrants upper left / right and lower left/right.

You stated that half the screen is dark. Do you find it is the Upper/lower or left/right half?

Customer replied 1190 days and 9 hours ago.

The right half of the tv is dark why is this

Ok left half of the screen is dark, while the right half is ok.....is there a clearly distinct sharp edge between the bad side and the good side? Or do you find the bad side slowly blends into the good side? No clear cut edge to it?

One can be the Tcon, one can be the LCD panel.....

Let me know ok?

Customer replied 1190 days and 8 hours ago.

It slowly bends

Ok, so it's not perfectly linear...that would have been the TCON board....

Unfortunately it's the LCD panel, and the cost is about the same as the cost of buying a new LCD TV set.

I was hoping it was the TCON.

Part # XXXXX XXXXX and the cost is $449.00 and is not in stock right now.

You may have to wait for the part, up to 6 or 8 weeks.

Anyways, we're done here, you have all the information you need to repair your TV set.

Please press the ACCEPT button so I can get paid, and if you have any more questions, just ask, you can still get answers until you close the question out.
