Customer Question

I have a Sony Trinitron 40" XBR . The standby light is flashing 7 times. I cannot get the TV to go on, but I get sound through the entertainment system.

Optional Information:
Make: Sony
Model: Sony Trinitron XBR 40" Picture Tube

Already Tried:
I went down to the panel box in my basement and shut off the power to the outlets for the TV. The TV is in my entertainment center and unfortunately the only way to work on it is by moving the whole system. I heard by unplugging the TV sometimes it fixes the problem I am having which is sound through my system but no picture ( the red standby light is flashing 7 times). Please help me. Thank You, Joe Decanio.

Hi, Joe!

I'm pretty sure I know what's wrong, but I need the full model number of the set. If this is a 40" direct view CRT set, it's probably a KV-40XBR800. Can you verify that?

Chuck
