Customer Question

We have a hitachi 32LD8700UA TV, we have owned for 2yrs approx from new, if it is turned off for ashort while 10 mins it turns itself on and off every few seconds. We took it to a local repair shop who had it on for a day with no problem ( IT CAME HOME AND BEHAVED THE SAME WAY) It now turns itself off after approx 2hrs and starts the on off thing. Recently i told someone of the problem and they had the same with a hitachi TV and it was a faulty joint. If this is acommon fault should hitachi not be liable to fix it.
Hope you can help
Thank You Dave and Janet

Hello Dave and Janet

Thanks for using this service

Welcome to JustAnswer

Their are no bulletins at hitachi for this issue however I have uploaded the inside of your set and the most suspect components on the board with the green circle the powerboard, the ones marked black and red the electrolytic capacitors will need to be changed initially as these cause all sorts of issues with this set

All hitachis are different so what your friend said wont be applicable to your set

www.mediafire.com/infotechfile its under the model number for your set

If you need more information please ask

An ability to solder and de-solder is required to replace them capacitors

An engineer may charge £80 for this repair
