Do you see the on screen indicators, volume up , channel number etc?

Do you have other tv's in the house connected to same cable , antenna, sattelite?

What are you using Sat, cable , off air antenna?

Will a dvd playback?

Customer replied 1237 days and 9 hours ago.

Nothing appears on the screen - it is completely blue, no channel, volume or any indicator.

Yes our other tvs work fine.

We use comcast cable.

No a DVD will not play on the screen

Plus it seems like it takes a really long time for the tv to turn on and off.

Hi again,

Thanks for the additional info.

This is a fairly technical repair that would require unsoldering capacitors and installing

new capacitors.

My records show that there have been many failures of C235 2200@10V capacitors in the power supply.

Some symptoms include backlight only (blue screen) or Intermittent picture and sound. No menu operation , slow power on & off. Replaced 2200uf 10v caps on Main power Supply board. check for bulges in these capacitors.

check these capacitors as well CAPS C235, C201, C218, C219 .

So is this something a tv repair person can do and is it an expensive fix or one that should be done - rather than purchasing a new tv?

It is something an experienced TV repair person could do.

I would think a fair cost to repair should be in the $150.00 to 175.00 range.

Parts cost would be 20 to 30 dollars, the rest labor.
