Hi!

Are you saying that the set will be playing, then it will cut off with the front green light flashing rapidly?

Chuck

Customer replied 1296 days and 18 hours ago.

no the tv shuts of and in a few seconds the green light begins flashing then it stops then the green light comes bavk on and the tv comes back on

Gee, that's VERY odd.

When the green light starts flashing, is it a rapid flash, the way it does if you unplug the power cord and plug it back in? When you do that, it takes up to 90 seconds to stop flashing. Is this what happens when your set shuts down?

yes

Well, then it's definitely that"brain" you referred to. Do you know if they replaced it or tried to fix it? Also, it is called the "DM Module," does that ring a bell?

it has been replaced twice and now it is doing it again i want to know how to prevent this because soon i will wake up one morning and the green light will constantly flash and the tv will not respond at all

When was the last time it was replaced, and what did they charge for the part? By the way, the continually flashing light problem is usually an easy fix on this TV.

Chuck

the first replacement lasted 8 mo the last replacment was 6 mo ago the first tome it was 250.00 the last 400.00

Then I don't think they replaced anything like the DM module, or if they did, they put in one they slavaged from someone else.

Replacement DM modules, when they were new, were $1000. They aren't avaialble any longer, they have to be rebuilt by PTS Corp., and that's in the $550 range. So there's something fishy, in my opinion, regarding your servicer.

Nevertheless, that's what I think your problem is, and if you want to send that part away, it's not that difficult to remove. If you're comfortable opeing up the back of the set, i can help.

Let me know if that's what you want to try, or if you have any other questions, and thanks for using JustAnswer!
