I am trying to remove the hyper module from a Toshiba 57H82. I know you have to solder in a few places but do not know how to get to it. I have everything off except for the silver module box. Don't want to go any further till someone can explain the next step. Thanks Judy
There are several tabs from the module that extend through the circuit board and are twisted slightly to maintain a physical connection and then soldered in place. You will need to remove the solder and straighten the tabs in order to remove it. You must be careful not to damage any of the circuit traces on the circuit board during the process. I suggest using a soldering gun or pen just strong enough to be able to melt the solder since the metal case can act as a heat sink and too strong a soldering device can damage the circuit board. Also, you should use a soldering wick to drain off the solder when melted since trying to straighten the tabs with any solder remaining can also damage the board.Link=>Toshiba Technical bulletin on Hyper Module repair. If you require additional information or assistance please let me know.DanDan - Master Tech39844.6156114236
