What is the model number of the TV? The model number will be displayed on a tag on the back of the TV near where the power cord is attached.Are there any light on the TV lit or flashing? What have you tried to correct the problem?

TV goes out after 10 to 15 seconds - picture first and 5 seconds later sound. appears like an auto shutoff
The center button where you turn on flashes
Model # XXXXX HLS4266WX/XAA
Just the center button at the bottom of the unit flashes "Lamp , Timer & Standby Temp" words flash
I have not done anything to correct.
I am not a repair person
Do you recommend the Geek Squad or such to come out to repair
also - what / when is the threshold to repair vs purch a new one - given this is a DLP etc
I would not reccomend Geek Squad unless you want to pay more for the repair than needed. I expect this repair will be about $150 to $350, depending on how many parts are found to be out of factory specifications, if the problem is a bad circuit board, and if the board can be repaired or has to be replaced. A small TV repair shop will often charge less for the repair than a large electronics repair facility. Should you require further clarification, never hesitate to ask.
