Hi my name is ***** ***** I will be happy to assist with this today. In some cases I may need more info to assist better.I apologize for any delay.

Have any warning lights come on on the dash at all for this issue or have the fault codes been checked at all?

Is this a manual shift or automatic transmission?

Let me know so we can continue, thanks Pete.

Fault codes?
Expert:  Pete replied 1 month ago.

Fault codes are checked with a scan tool that is plugged into your vehicles data port under the dash. This has to be a fully compatible scan tool that can read the computers in your model here.

What it sounds like from here is a fault with one of the vehicle speed sensors. If a sensor fails then the speedometer fails to operate and the transmission will not shift properly. You will need to have the fault codes checked to see what codes are set as this will help determine if a sensor is the cause here.I suspect it is needing replaced.
