Hi Duke .

First need to check for engine and transmission codes .

Typical for this engine is a malfunctioning TPS .so if you have a check engine light on this could be your problem.

but a scan for codes is needed to be sure this is your problem .

Have a diagnostic check for codes then get back to me if needed.

Need further assistance with this issue then please get back to me with the reply box below .

After rating there is no further cost for any other question relating this issue .

Kind regards Greg

There are no codes but the check engine light is on

Expert:  Greg replied 2 months ago.

Okay good .

If the check engine is on then there must be a code .(Unless the ECM has malfunctioned ).

Transmission codes can not be read with a Code reader .you will need a good top level scan tool

to read Trans codes .

What/which scan tool are you using .

Seems strange but there are 2 codes but they are the same number which is PO328. The check engine light is on

Expert:  Greg replied 2 months ago.

Duke what scan tool are you using .

Just need to know so i can see how far we can diagnose this issue and how

Greg

Expert:  Greg replied 2 months ago.

The P0328 is the knock sensor ,this will cause a no shift to O/D .

You will need to check the connections or replace the sensor .

Good news is its not a transmission malfunction so you can relax on that one ..

I just today got a new knock sensor, have not put it in yet.

Can you tell me where it is located

Expert:  Greg replied 2 months ago.

Hi Duke .

You will have to dig deep for this one as the knock sensor is located under

the intake manifold on the side of the engine block..

Removal of the Intake manifold is needed to gain access.

The Knock sensor itself is held in place with one 12mm bolt and is in iteslf an easy removal ones you get the

Manifold removed .

It was a pain but I got the knock sensor changed, cleared the codes, disconnected the battery for about ten minutes.

It still will not go into OD, the same code came back after driving about 5 miles, check engine light is back on.

any thoughts as where to go next?

Morning duke .

Same Knock sensor code came back.

What sensor did you use OEM or aftermarket .

Greg

Customer: replied 2 months ago.

got it from NAPA

Expert:  Greg replied 2 months ago.

Okay duke .

If the sensor was aftermarket like NAPA sell it could be the problem .but if the sensor is good then we

have a problem with the wiring ot the connections on the sensor or the ECM.

If wiring and connectors are good you will need to check at your dealer for a possible ECM reflash or possible bad ECM.
