do you know the last time the transmission may have been serviced. i know bmw calls for no service of the fluid but it is always a good idea to change it.

bmw valve bodies are well known for going bad... well the check balls are what go bad they are made out of plastic and wear out. they do this so as not to wear out the valvew body. i would recommend having either a the entire valve body replaced or the check balls replaced. the later should only be done by a shop very familiar with transmissions.
