This can usually be resolved by adjusting the shift cable. A shop will charge you approx. 1 hour labor to do this. It is done externally on the vehicle so there is no need to have to tear into the transmission. If this is something you are planning to try yourself, let me know and i can send some instructions. However it will require some specialty tools to perform/
