98 Dakota, trying to replace clutch, all bolts on housing

98 Dakota, trying to replace clutch, all bolts on bell housing out, cross memer removed,drive shaft removed can not get the transmision to pull back . engine and transmission both supported on seperate jacks. Help !!

but only about a 1/4 inch and wont go farther?

ok, this is caused by a pilot bearing sticking to the end of the crankshaft, and is common, you will need to pry the trans back with 2 pry bars until it pops loose, if the trans come back about 1/4 inch but wont come farther, then its the pilot bushing,Tim
