i have a 2006 2500 four wheel drive with cummins 5.9. transmission seems to be slipping at slow speeds. now it does not have any power on climbing hills and when you apply full power you get low power and black smoke

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!It sounds like you have an engine performance concern rather than the transmission slipping, although you could have more than one thing going on at the same time. IF the trans was slipping then engine power would be normal but RPM's would climb high without the truck pulling when you try to accelerate.The first step in diagnosing the problem is to see if any fault codes are setting. Have you checked for codes?
