I am sorry your having this problem
when it goes into 3rd it will act like neutral when its supposed to be in 3rd ?
when this happens the issue is the 3-4 clutches air gap is too great or the 3-4 clutch piston is stuck or the 3-4 clutch piston seal is missing or torn
the only difference between 2nd and 3rd gear is the 3-4 clutch pack being applied and when its not 3rd will act like neutral

did you air check the 3-4 clutches ?
what was the air gap you set for the 3-4 clutches ?
holding the drum up and applying air up the input drum shaft fluid hole with 30 psi and see if the 3-4 clutches apply
no you never have to enlarge any of the plate holes
new plate and the check balls all in place and where they belong
.035 to .055 range keep them tighter on more so to the .035 side of the spec
the servo is for the low reverse band and plays no part for 3rd gear
this 93 transmission does it have a big round electrical plug at it ?
if it has the big round plug be sure the pink wire at that connector shows 12 volts with the key ON
if it does go after that 3-4 clutch issue
how are you making out ?
did that pink have 12 volts at it ?
is it still going 1st then 2nd then kicking out of 3rd ?
are you sure all the grounds are clean and tight on the engine ?
if so you need to see if you can shift this transmission with a scan tool

the problem is the 3-4 clutches are burnt out
take it back apart and air check everything..
ad the transgo shift kit..
try not to use alto clutches.use raybestos if you can
the transgo shift kit is the best fix we have found to prevent the 3-4 clutch pack burn up

if this isnt the 3-4's it is in the valve body,,it has a stuck valve.and isnt getting fluid pressure to the 3-4's
explain to me exactly what it does please
the 3-4's have let go,,have you took it back apart yet?
and the 3-4's arent burnt any?
do they look like they have slipped any?
has any parts been swapped.like maybe the pump or valve body?
the 93-94 " are by themselves
can you take a call?
what year did you replace it with?
the 95-97 are different
also the separator plate is different..was it replaced?
the front pump,,does it have the letters PWM on it?
there is something certainly not right there
it is in the valve body,plate or the pump,,there is no pressure getting to the 3-4
it isnt electrical,,the electrical is working,,it is shifting but nothing there
