I will provide an honest answer. I trust this will be appreciated. Please remember that a low rating PUNISHES me for being honest and that I receive nothing for my time until a positive rating is clicked.
thank you for your attention to the rating requirement
you have asked "what are these"
the answer is:
4F8A: ratio monitering fourth and fifth gear
51A7: engine speed no signal
you have also asked "what should I do"
the answer is that with just these static codes an no additional test plans run, there could be several things going on, the most common would be - internal wear, internal or external fliud leak, bad crank sensor or faulty transmission contorl module
so, you should have a proper diagnostic run with a factory BMW scan tool to pinpoint the issue.
Please let me know if you have further questions. Please do not forget to click a positive rating as this is the only way I receive credit for my answer, thank you. Best wishes with your vehicle.
