Customer Question

2008 lincoln MKX Transfer case is leaking, and I just had a rebuilt transmission installed. Bonded Transmission says Tranfer case is separate from the transmission and will cost me additional 1900.00 to fix. So my question is-----Is the TRANSFER CASE CONNECTED TO THE TRANSMISSION!!!!

Hi. The transfer case is a seperate unit from the transmission. But it does bolt to the transmission and does need to be removed and reinstalled when the transmission is replaced. If the transfer case is not noisey, and only leaking, the seals can be replaced to stop the leak.
