Hello and welcome to justanswer.com
First make sure the P is illuminated red on the shifter and that the brake lights work. If both are the case then there is most likely a failure in the shifter. There is a manual override we can try to see if it will release. Pop off the woodgrain surround and on the driver side of the shifter body there is a lever in the center about an inch and a half. Use a long thin flat blade screwdriver and try to move the rear of the lever up while moving it out of park. Let me know.
