Ford Windstar Automatic transmission. Is it a normal thing

This answer was rated:

Ford Windstar Automatic transmission. Is it a normal thing for the transmission to make a whining noise as it accelerates then quiets when it levels out.
Hello and thank you for your question,

No, its not normal for any type of whining from the transmission while accelerating as well as while cruising and in most cases this usually means you have the beginning stages of a failing front pump .
