My 2001 Montana is leaking transmission fluid from around the fly wheel area when put into gear> what could this be?

Hi,how are you?From what you are describing this is a leak from the front pump seal,the transmission has to be removed in order to replace the seal.

how difficult is this

This is not a easy job at all,the transmission has to be removed with the engine as a assembly.This job will call for about 14 hours of labor.
