Hello, I'm Chris. Welcome and thanks for asking your question!
When this occurs do the rpms rise really high but the vehicle speed does not increase equally?
Does it shift harsh at this speed or just delayed?
Can you tell if this is a concern from 1st to 2nd or from 2nd to 3rd?
It raises RPM from 1st to 2nd , i think. again it starts at 20 and shifts at 30MPH then it's fine thru all speeds. Shifts rough but not too bad and the Overdrive light will come on. It all just started happening. I spoke with alocal mechanic today but he just said buy a new transmission. What do you make of that? Thanks , Frank A.
Have you checked the trans oil level to see if it's low?
Have you checked for any trans oil leaks especially at the cooler near the passenger headlight?
You said the overdrive light comes on, does it come on by itself and does it start flashing?
I still can not tell if this concern is during the 1-2 shift or once in 2nd or during the 2-3 shift, can you drive it once again and feel for which gear or shift has the concern?
I can not tell by the speed alone because I do not know if you are accelerating fast or slow.
