Hi, I have a 2007 Ford Focus. I am having trouble with the transmission shifting from 3-4 when engine is warm(runs fine when cold). The engine will rev when it is trying to go to 4th, then it will slip back down to 3rd. I had a check engine light and got the code for the shift A solenoid. I replaced it with part number XS4Z-7H148-AA. I also replaced the TPS. I am still having the same issue, but the check engine light is not on anymore. I do occasionally get the overdrive off light flashing. Any suggestions?

Hello, I'm Chris.
Now that the over drive light is flashing have you used a transmission ca capable scan tool to check and see which trans codes are stored?
Can you explain the concern you have with the 3-4 shift when hot?
I have not checked for codes since the check engine light went off. When warm, the engine will rev when shifting from 3rd to 4th(as if in neutral). It will then fall back into third with a jerk unless I let up off the gas. Can I still get a code if the check engine light isn't on?
Yes you can still get code with out a check engine light because you are getting a warning light from the transaxle flashing OD light. Your concern of a slipping 4th gear is going to be caused by a weak stretched 2-4 band and the servo seals not holding pressure. This means it will need to be overhauled to address. You just need to make sure first off that the stored codes are not additional faulty solenoids which can be addressed without an overhaul
Thanks so much for all the useful information you have posted to help me help you
