Ford F53: I have a 1991 Itasca Windcruiser motorhome built

Customer Question

I have a 1991 Itasca Windcruiser motorhome built on a F53 chassis. This has the 460 engine, and to the best of my knowledge the Ford e40d automatic transmission.
The overdrive lockout switch is located on the dash, with a XXXXX XXXXXght showing when overdrive is locked out. I can not lock out the overdrive, no XXXXX XXXXXght comes on and the rig seems to be like in a coast mode with very little engine braking. Does the overdrive lockout just prevent the transmission shifting into 4th
gear, or does it perform other duties. I am not getting any power to any of the connections on the switch. Any ideas ?
