JA: Do you need to appear in court?
Customer: If I receive points I need to appear in court and remove my points. At this point I do not know about getting point or not? Based on "citation"

According to PennDOT, following too closely is a THREE point violation. See:
You can go to court and make a deal with the prosecutor to reduce the charge to some non-moving violation to pay the fine, as non-moving violations have no points and will not go on your insurance.
