Have Traffic Law Questions? Ask a Traffic Lawyer Online.
Thank you for your question. Please permit me to assist you with your concerns.
What state are you located in?
This is potentially problematic because if you did not have a valid license at the time of driving, the state 'presumes' you to be at fault, much like someone who is driving under the influence, even if they did not do anything wrong, are likewise deemed to be at fault. The fault is based on the fact that if you are not allowed to be driving, that is, you had no license and therefore had no privilege to use the car, you are at fault for being on the road.
Have you retained counsel as yet?
I reside in Virginia and do not have counsel yet
Have you been cited by the police for driving without a valid license?
I did receive a ticket for driving on a suspended DL
How long ago did this take place, was there a hearing scheduled in court?
Were you cited for anything else?
