12c charge port will not work there is no power gong to it,

Customer Question

12c charge port will not work there is no power gong to it
JA: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate?
Customer: It's my fiancée car but from what she said it doesn't work at all. I think her USB port isn't drawing any power either. But the 12v charging port I tried to plug a device into it this morning and nothing
JA: What is the model/year of your Toyota?
Customer: 2013 scion
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I was going to see if it was a simple solution I would try to do it. However if it's more complicated I know my limits. lol I have had a chance to try anything yet. Just looking at what the possible problems could be
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: That's it

Thanks for posting

it's most likely just a blown fuse caused by something that was plugged in to the socket. Locate the fuse panel inside, it should be at the left side of the dash either under a plastic cover or just under the dash, remove the fuse box cover, there is a fuse diagram on it, match the diagram up with the fuses and locate the 'POWER outlet" fuse and try a new one in it's place.

If there is no power outlet fuse replace the "CIG" fuse.
