C1422 code. Brake lights work, I added some, it is topped

Customer Question

C1422 code. Brake lights work
JA: Have you checked the brake fluid? How's the level and when was it last changed?
Customer: I added some, it is topped off. Pedal feels good and does not bleed down
JA: What is the model/year of your Toyota?
Customer: 2012 Corolla
JA: Are you fixing your Corolla yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I would like to fix myself. Brake lights work, so brake light switch works. Brake fluid at high mark on master cylinder. I don't know where the brake pressure sending unit is.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Don't think so

Good afternoon.

The brake pressure sensor is part of the brake controller and will have to be replaced as a complete control unit assembly. If the brake lights are working then you have eliminated half of the toyota fault tree diagnosis and the most likely cause would be a failed control unit. Do you have a scan tool that will show the data stream from the brake pedal switch?

I only have a ODB2 reader. Where is the control unit?
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I found the control unit. Is there a way that I can check it with a multi-meter?
Expert:  Jared D replied 2 months ago.

Let me see. I'll send the fault tree diagram from Toyota.

You could test for voltage at the connector:
