I put a battery on backwards on my 2015 tundra and now it

Customer Question

Hello. I put a battery on backwards on my 2015 tundra and now it starts but the gauges are a little screwy and I can't shift the transmission. Don't know what to do. Any ideas?
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you noticed any leaking?
Customer: I bought the truck in 2014. It's a 2015 with 65,000 miles. I don't think it's the transmission. I believe I blew something electrical when I connected the battery backwards.
JA: Are you fixing your Tundra yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I checked and changed out about 4 small fuses under the hood (truck wouldn't start before that) and I checked all of the fuses under the steering wheel and they are fine. I pulled out the relay plugs to check for signs of burning but they didn't look burned. I let the truck run for a while to see if it cleared up but it didn't
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not that I could think of.

The shifter does not come out of park or the train doesn't engage?

Also what size motor does it have? I want to make sure I'm looking up correct diagrams.

The letters on the dash don't light up and shifter will not move at all. Like if it's locked in place. The radio, AC and other electrical components don't work. It's a 4.7 liter I believe

Can you list what fuses you already replaced so we don't back track.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I'm sorry I was just picked up from where the vehicle is stranded at. I won't be back at it until tomorrow morning. What I can tell you is that they were small fuses under the hood and had the numbers 10, 15, and 20. Prior to that the truck would not start. I checked the fuses under the column with a fuse tester and they all seemed to be ok. I have no way of verify if the relay are okay except for checking for signs of burning but I didn't see that

Ok here are some fuses to double check. Check them with the truck running. These will be in the under hood fuse box.

  1. met fuse
  2. met B fuse

These will be in the interior fuse box.

  1. ecu ig 1 4
  2. a/c ig
  3. ecu ig 2
  4. acc
  5. LH IG

Let me know what you find.
