If the vehicle will run and move in most states except California and Virginia and they do free code reads at your local parts stores. Or you can purchase a generic code reader for less than $60 these days. We need to find out if there any codes that would be set in the engine control computer that would be related to the hybrid system or other components. Is this something that you will be able to do?

If you turn the headlights and the wipers on do the headlights stay Fulbright or do they dim and the wipers move slowly? At any time was the vehicle jumped backwards or was the 12 V battery installed backwards even for a split second? Do you have a voltmeter with a reasonable knowledge of how to use it? Does the light in the start button turn green when you push the brake pedal and you have the key in the slot?
