My 2009 Prius with on board navigation stopped working

my 2009 Prius with on board navigation stopped working mid-way into my trip. I'm getting a not connected or not reading DVD error message on my screen.
JA: How many miles are on the car? Do you have scan tool or a code reader?
Customer: 173k miles. I don't have any tools.
JA: Are you fixing your Prius yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I am not fixing myself. I want to take it to my dealer; however, lately I have lost faith in them. I don't want to pay $700 for them to replace a fuse.
