Toyota Repair Problems? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello and welcome to just answer. I value your input to my questions so I may help you better. Is this an aftermarket alarm . does it also have immobilizer with it?
didn't ask for a call yet. if it's aftermarket there will be two areas for fuses, one near the battery the other behind left lower kick panel in a bunch of wires. If it has an imoblizer that means it's wired so it won't start the engine if it is triggered
did she try putting key in door locking it and hold fob to open for about 15 seconds?
here is the procedure to disarm the system if it is a factory alarm good luck and I won't ask you to rate me just don't like to leave a young lady stranded. http://www.parksoffroad.com/tacomamods/alarminfo/alarminfo.htm#remotearminganddisarming
To DISARM the system:Press and release the top REMOTE CONTROL button once again: The PIEZO "CHIRPER" will chirp twice. The exterior (tail/marker) lights will flash twice. The interior lights will turn on for 30 seconds or until the doors are closed (as long as the dome light switch is set to the "DOOR" position). The doors will unlock (if the vehicle is equipped with power locks).
Note: The PIEZO OPERATION MODE is factory preset to "ON".
