Received code 0986. Took it to shop and they replaced solenoid e. Got back yesterday and it is still down shifting and code came back?
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you noticed any leaking?
Customer: Haven't noticed any leaking. 2005
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: 2005 toyota sienna
JA: Are you fixing your Sienna yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Took it to local transmission shop. They replaced solenoid
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

  • Were the electrical tests done to see if the solenoid wiring and signal are good? If so then we need to go into the trans to check the valve body out next
