I have a 2007 Toyota Avalon Limited with a stuck fuel filler

Customer Question

I have a 2007 Toyota Avalon Limited with a stuck fuel filler door. How can I release it?
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: No. never stuck before. I had a battery replaced since the last fill up.
JA: Are you fixing your Avalon yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Myself as I need gas and am on the road. There is power to the door.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

First, have you checked the FUEL OPN fuse in the under dash fuse box?

Next, if that fuse looks ok you should be able to access the fuel door motor from the trunk and manually move it to the unlock position.
