Customer Question

well, i have a 2000 tundra. it will start fine then idle speed is low. then after it warms up and is turned off it doesn't want to start again unless i keep my foot on the accelartor. i use lucas fuel injector cleaner regularly. i changed the fuel filter. i replaced all the coil packs and spark plugs about a year ago. I am not getting any check engine codes?
JA: Is the fuel filter an external one, or is it inside the tank?
Customer: external
JA: Are you fixing your Tundra yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: replaced spark plugs and coil packs. and changed the fuel filter
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

hey how are you

1- what is the fuel pressure : ?

00 Toyota Tundra Fuel specs

Fuel Pressure No Vacuum 38 to 44 psi

2-Mass air flow sensor & CKP Crank Shaft Position sensor are common about doing that and NOT THROWING A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT .

Get a mass air flow sensor cleaner and clean and test again or if MAF sensor is The original ( Replace it)

3- have you checked for vacuum leaks?

4- cleaned TB body plate and idle air control valve ?Please let me know

Thank You

Morning Chad, I replaced MAS and CKP. I adjusted the idles cable slightly. you think thats okay? it seems to be working fine now. I was gonna check the TB body plate. What is that? I'm working out of a Haynes book. I found the idle air control valve and will check it out this weekend. Thanks, Doug
