I have a temp gauge on a 2007 Corolla that fluctuates

Customer Question

I have a temp gauge on a 2007 Corolla that fluctuates wildly. I am attempting to replace the sending unit but can't figure out where it si.
JA: Is the cooling fan on all the time?
Customer: Not that I know of.
JA: Are you fixing your Corolla yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, I got a part from an auto parts store and went to change it out and it is not the same as the unit in the engine head. When I ask them for a sending unit they can't find it in the parts list.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Hello I will help,

The only sender for engine temperature is for the computer and the computer sends the info to the instrument panel for the gauge.

Are you seeing the engine temp change or the outside temp change?
