I have a 2007 Highlander, I'm wondering if using a used ecm

Customer Question

I have a 2007 Highlander, I'm wondering if using a used ecm will cause more trouble or if I should bite the bullet and buy new?
JA: Are you fixing your Highlander yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: A local garage will do it, I've done nothing myself, they diagnosed it to be a faulty ecm.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No
