My rav4 is showing engine fault P1251 it happened on a steep incline, parked it up somewhere safe, after 10 minutes started her back up and she ran ok but the management light if still on - what causes this to happen/

Do to the fact that it occurred while on a steep incline this would indicate there is a malfunction in the Turbo system and the extra load on it.. This code sets whenever the Turbo system detects excessive pressure. Listed below are your possible options if the wastegate or the VN turbo vane is stuck closed.
