i have a 1996 toyota camry 4cylinder that stalls periodically.It starts back up right away and will not stall again for awhile. I do not know what is causing this to happen and either does my mechanic.

Did you have it checked to see if there are any diagnostic fault codes in the computer?

No other default codes this seems to be a problem with a lot ot 1996 camry

Yes, there is a common problem with the idle air control valve, it may need to be removed and checked and cleaned to keep it from sticking, at the same time the trottle body should be cleaned as well, this usually takes care of the problem.
