Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If the noise is RPM related then it's most likely coming from the engine or an engine driven accessory. A driveline noise would be dependent on vehicle speed, an engine, accessory or possibly the torque converter or trans pump could make a noise depending on RPM.

Does the noise happen while sitting still? It should if RPM dependent.

Has anything been done to try to repair it?

Did the problem start after any work was done , an accident, etc?
